Donations are tax deductable in Canada through http://www.ontheground.ca and in the U.S through http://www.blueearth.org. These two organizations help documentary photographers fund and present important work that is often not seen in the mass media.


World Health is a human right. And, it is a crisis we can solve.

  • Every hour 1,500 people die, worldwide, of infectious diseases (including HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, and diarrhea). More than half are children under the age of five
  • 14,ooo,ooo people die each year from treatable diseases (what country, province or city is that?)
  • Another 2,000,000,000 are infected
  • 1,300,000,000 lack access to clean water
  • 2,600,000,000 lack access to sanitation
  • Sleeping sickness, river blindness, rotavirus, and trachoma shatter families, jolt economies, and destabilize security and food supplies.
  • Yet, the amount spent on world health is less 2% of the global military budget.

Without health for everyone, there can be no progress, development, sustainability, or security.

By living among and befriending the diseased and disenfranchised people whose stories I document, I aim to give a voice, hope, and dignity to the victims. I want to humanize the crisis by putting faces and personalities on these numbing statistics.
